Birds of Gaza is a community art project to craft unique birds to remember every child killed in Israel's war on Gaza. Through the power of collective art we're highlighting the atrocities that have led to over 13,500 children (and counting) being mercilessly killed.

Birds of Gaza was started in London. A small group in Portland OR are gathering people in community to make birds and to create an art installation where they can all fly free together.

  • We are coming together as a collective to honor the children of Gaza our government and institutions actively dehumanize and allow to be violently murdered. We will remember them, we will honor them, and we will continue fighting for our Palestinian siblings until they no longer live under this brutal apartheid occupation.

  • If you have art supplies at home please bring them. We want to be mindful of not overconsuming or buying materials that won’t get used.

This spreadsheet currently contains known names of children killed by Israel between October 7th and October 26th, 2023. There are estimates now that the death toll of just children has surpassed 8,500.

The names and data are sourced from a report published by the Palestinian Ministry of health on Oct 27th after US President Biden shared his unfounded skepticism at the reported death toll.

The orginal report can be found here Report. Numbers from the ministry have been widely considered accurate and reliable by humanitarian organizations inlcuding the United Nations and US State Department.

According to Save the Children data in early November, a child was being killed every 10 minutes. The UN has called the besieged Palestinian enclave “a graveyard” for children due to the high casualty figures.
